Hangzhou is a city of two faces: it is a place of fast-paced typical high-class urban life, and at the same time it contains places that allow a visitor to stop by and bask at the tranquility of the natural beauty of the place. So many visitors have already visited and appreciated this place, including the famous explorer Marco Polo, who had flaunted the beauty of this place in his writings. It is not surprising too, that this place is largely inhabited, and businesses had flourished – as this town has attracted tourists not only locally but also worldwide.

Since tourism is the primary attraction of Hangzhou, there are several famous spots that are really worth visiting. The great West Lake is the most popular of all scenic places; it is mostly the first place that a tourist would always know about, for there are so many scenic spots to see within the West Lake itself such as a number of pagodas at the lake location itself.
